Privacy Policy
How Lightning Paralegal Services, LLC handles the information you give us — including what you submit through this website and the documents you share for your matter.
Effective date: September 17, 2026 · Last updated: September 17, 2026
The short version: we collect what you give us, we use it to prepare your documents and answer your questions, and we don't sell it to anyone. Please don't send Social Security numbers or other sensitive identifiers through this website — call us instead and we'll handle it securely.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly. That includes what you enter into the consultation and intake forms on this website — your name, phone number, email address, county, the type of matter, your timeline, and whatever you choose to write in the description field.
We also collect information you provide by phone, email, or in person, and the documents and records you give us to prepare your matter.
Finally, this website collects basic technical information automatically — pages visited, approximate location by IP address, browser and device type. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to your inquiry, prepare the documents and filings you engage us to prepare, communicate with you about your matter, and keep records of the work performed.
If you submit a form on this website, that submission is delivered to our office by email and stored in our website platform's submission log. We use it to contact you back — nothing else.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers. We do not use your information to send you marketing you did not ask for.
Sensitive information — an important limitation
The forms on this website are not a secure channel for sensitive identifiers. Please do not enter Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, or medical records into any web form on this site.
We need some of that information to prepare many documents. We will collect it from you directly by phone or in person, or from the paper intake sheet you complete and hand to us. If you have already sent sensitive information through this website, call us and we will arrange a safer method.
Confidentiality of client information
Information you provide as a client is held in confidence and used only to perform the work you engaged us for. We do not discuss your matter with anyone outside this office without your direction, except where the law requires disclosure.
Documents are prepared and stored in a manner intended to keep them private. Electronic files are kept in access-controlled storage; paper files are kept in a locked office. We retain client records for as long as needed to complete the matter and to satisfy our own recordkeeping obligations, then dispose of them securely.
Note that a legal document preparer is not an attorney and communications with us are not protected by attorney-client privilege. Our confidentiality commitment is a matter of professional practice and our own policy — it is not a legal privilege.
Who we share information with
We share your information only in these narrow situations: with the court or agency where your documents are filed, when you have asked us to file them; with a process server, when service is part of your matter; with a delivery or payment provider strictly as needed to carry out a task you requested; or when we are legally compelled to disclose it.
Our website platform and email provider process data on our behalf and hold it under their own security and privacy terms.
Cookies and analytics
This website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use the site — which pages get visited, roughly where visitors are located, and what device they used. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the site work, but it will not prevent you from contacting us.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Call or email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any point. If you are an active client, we may still need to reach you about your matter.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children through it. Documents we prepare may involve minor children when you are their parent or legal guardian and you have given us that information yourself.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access controls, secure transmission over HTTPS, and locked physical storage.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We cannot promise absolute security, and you should use judgment about what you send over the internet — which is why we ask you not to send sensitive identifiers through this website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of this website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
